                A very memorable day of second year Mass Communication Technology students of La Verdad Christian College – Caloocan together with some of the members of Photoville International. It was then a happy sunny day with their first ever photo walk in Intramuros, Manila going to Luneta Park and Baywalk before the sunset.

                Last September 13 and 20 of 2013 is the date of their photo walk from 6 in the morning until 6 in the afternoon, having a lunch stop at Bay Leaf. Every studentis wearing their comfortable working clothes such as jogging pants and rubber shoes.

                It was a long day walk but the fatigue under the high temperature that day is just nothing for them because of the fun in their photo walk.  Every class was group to have different mentors from Photoville. Mr. Dominic Meily guided every group as they had their photo walk.

Everyone seems so happy and really enjoying with their companies. Almost everyone wants to have camera to use because it’s street photography is very interesting.

A photo walk to remember, their first click that they never wanted to waste. From morning until the sunset. Full of excitement and fun of the students who had it for the first time.

2013 – 3^rd Quarter International Thanksgiving to God

               

                With God’s help and guidance, another consecutive three days of International Thanksgiving to God was celebrated last September 27, 28, and 29 of this year.Thousands of people attended at the Ang Dating Daan convention center and there are also lot of coordinating center from different places in Philippines and from other countries that was connected to the celebration.

“Papuring awit ay aalayan ka Ama, Buong kagalakan kami’y sumasamba..”, a song entitled Medley 1 was sang by the Music Ministry and performed by Teatro Kristiano on its first day after the prayer. The presiding ministries Bro. Eliseo Soriano was the first one who greets the whole congressional and speak about giving thanks to God accordingly to the Bible.There are two topic that was discussed by Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel on the first day of the International Thanksgiving to God. There are also songs of praises that was presented from different places in Philippines and also from other country.

“Darating na si Hesus, Halina” was the opening song of praise on the second day of the International Thanksgiving to God. Only one topic was discussed by Bro. Eliseo Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon. The population of people on the second day also increased and there are even hundreds of guests who attended the thanksgiving. Still there are different song of praises are presented. Work force is also within the every break time of the thanksgiving.

After the prayer on the third day, songs of praises was presented straightaway from Bro. Eliseo Soriano and his company from other country and everyone was so glad yet feeling a little bit sad because it was already the last day of thanksgiving but still the number of people increases in the convention. Another topic was also discussed that day.

Three consecutive days full of praises and guidance of God. It’s really great to have a God with an outstretch hand calling us. Until after the prayer as the thanksgiving ends, song of praises are presented by the Members of Church of God International.

Janet Napoles was informed to be arrested by De Lima

Janet Lim-Napoles, the known head of the pork barrel scam was informed to be arrested by the Philippine Justice Secretary Leila de Lima according to her lawyer Lorna Kapunan.

Lorna Kapunanan said that they knew about the warrant arrest for Napoles that was from Makati Regional Trial Court for the case illegal detention that was announced by Sec. Leila de Lima to the media.

Kapunan stated about what President Benigno Aquino III said to be that there was two officials of National Bureau of Investigation who gave tip to Napoles. The reason why Napoles and her brother Reynald Lim hid.

Nonnatus Rojas resigned from NBI after Presisent Benigno Aquino had announced his disappointment to NBI.

“ANGELA AS A SCHOLAR AT LA VERDAD CHRISTIAN COLLEGE”

A scholar student is a student who studies for free or maybe not are all free but a scholar student has a big decrease in their payments in a school or university. A scholar needs to maintain a high or average grade. A scholar needs to study and strive hard.We knew that in our country there are thousands of scholars in different schools and AJis one of them. She is a scholar at La Verdad Christian College-Caloocan. A school that offers full scholarship to everyonewho are really in need.

With God’s help and guidance she is now at second year college, taking up Mass Communication Technology. Studying at La Verdad Christian College (LVCC) has a big difference from other universities. At La Verdad Christian College, a full scholarship is granted to everyone that willpass the entrance examination and interview in their school. From tuition fees, miscellaneous fees, fees from books, ID and even school and P.E. uniform are given free at LVCC. Not only that they are fully scholars but they also receive a high quality education from La Verdad Christian College and their school don’t limit the free knowledge that they share to the students because not only they learn academically but as a Christian school, the students, faculties and everyone also learn a lot about living in a Christian way. Having a good manners and right conduct is well practiced at LVCC.

Thus Angela as a scholar at La Verdad Christian College lessen a very big burden to their family. She just need to focus on her studies to maintain high or average grades. And what’s good at their school is that they won’t ask for a payment or help as a return to the scholarship that was granted to every student and that was already proven because there are already hundreds of students who graduated at La Verdad Christian College- Caloocan, Apalit and Africa.Angela as a scholar is fun and a very big blessing for her. At La Verdad, it’s just like other universities because there are also different organizations in their school and they are not left behind with the modern technologies that they are using. A clean and air conditioned rooms are also maintained at La Verdad and as she stated, “ I am proud to say that I am a La Verdarian”.

Team DOJ: muling natalo sa UNTV Cup

Sa ikatlong paglalaro ng Department of Justice o team DOJ sa UNTV-cup kahapon, ika-11 ng Agosto taong 2013 na naganap  sa Ynares Sports Arena ay muli sila ay natalo laban sa team Judiciary. Bandang alas-kwatro ‘y medya ay nagsimula ang laro ng DOJ at Judiciary.

Sa unang kwarter sa oras na anim na minuto at apat na pu’t tatlong segundo ay magkasunod lamang na natumba si Martin mula sa Juduciary at nadulas naman si Gregorio, mula naman sa DOJ.

Unang kwarter pa lamang ay natambakan na ang DOJ sa iskor na 10-38. Samantalang sa ikalawang kwarter ay may iskor na 25 ang DOJ samantalang 66 naman ang iskor ng Judiciary at sa ikatlong kwarter ay lumamang pa rin ang Juduciary sa iskor na 107-43. Sa kabila naman ng pagkatalo ng DOJ laban sa Judiciary sa iskor na 60-130 ay nagkamit naman ng mainit na suporta ang DOJmula sa mga manunuod.

Blood Letting sa La Verdad Christian College

Masiglang nakiisa ang mga estudyante ng La Verdad Christian College sa inorganisang blood letting ng mga estudyanteng Health Care sa La Verdad sa kanilang paaralan sa La Verdad Christian College sa Bagong Barrio Caloocan noong ika-18 ng Hulyo ngayong taon.

            Ang blood letting na naganap sa kanilang paaralan ay isa lamang sa mga aktibidad sa kanilang pagdiriwang ng “Nutrition Month”. Ang blood letting ay nagsimula ng alas-nuebe ng umaga hanggang hapon sa La Verdad auditorium. Ang blood letting na isinagawa ay naging matagumpay sa pakiki-isa rin ng Philippine Blood Center at mismong ang mga estudyante na mga Health Care na rin ang nagsagawa ng pagkuha ng blood pressure sa mga nagdonate ng dugo.

            Higit isang daang estudyante ang boluntaryang nagnais na magdonate ng dugo ngunit sa ilang kadahilanan ay hindi sila pumasa sa naganap na assessment at ang ilan naman ay kinailangan ng pahintulot ng magulang. Ang mga guro at ilang empleyado rin ng La Verdad ay nagdonate ng dugo, ganun rin naman ang ilan sa mga magulang at kaibigan ng mga estudyante na sumadya pa sa La Verdad.

Why Am I Here In La Verdad?

Every student in La Verdad have their own stories and reasons why are they in La Verdad. How about me?

   Since I was in high school being in the field of Mass Communication is already my dream even I don’t know yet what is the exact thing that Mass Communication students do. I was a great opportunity that I passed as a La Verdad scholar after the big number of enrollees in La Verdad. Mister Ryan Ramos helped me to apply in La Verdad Christian College-Caloocan.

   La Verdad helped me a lot. Not just because I am a scholar but also because in this school I found the truth in being a Christian. I just don’t learn all the lessons that I have to learn but also I was changed into a better person.

   At the first few days that I was at LVCC I Thought that I am in La Verdad Christian College for my studies, for my family, and for myself but one day I just realized that I am in La Verdad because God wanted me to be in the real church of God. He wanted me to know and understand what is written in the Bible. He wanted me to finish my studies in a school which will help me to improve myself.

A fun run under Red Cross Philippines was held last February 10, 2013. La Verdad Christian College had been part of the fun-run, which UNTV sponsored to pay for all the students of LVCC. UNTV was also one of the sponsor of the event. It was a worldwide event in which after the fun run Red Cross-Philippines was announced as the 1^st place in Asia and 4^th place worldwide.

        It was such a great experience. We really had fun on it. We had a sleep over at La Verdad, actually we didn’t have a sleep because we watched movies from midnight until early in the morning. Picture taking will always be there of course. The fun-run seems like a parade because we all just walked. LVCC-Caloocan students was so very energetic especially the boys. LVCC-Apalit was also in the event but few of them are there but still we enjoy to be with them. Others played at the grandstand, others joined the exercise after the fun-run.  

Series of Unfortunate Events

All of us have our own likes and dislikes in movies but then sometimes we meet someone that also love the same movies that you love. Now I’m going to give a critic to a movie that I love. 

One of the movies that I loved is “A Series of an Unfortunate Events” by Lemony Snickets. I haven’t read the book of it but I’d already watched the movie for three times. The first time that I watched it is when I was with my siblings and we really had fun of it. It’s a great story. If you haven’t watched it, well try it. It is full of lesson. The movie was narrated by Snickets also. The movie gives a big recall on my mind even the first time I watched it, especially those parts wherein the children is encountering different struggles in their life. I also like the concept of the story wherein there is a lady who said that she would die if he had mistakes on his English grammars. Count Olafs’ character is also very exciting. He used to be everywhere where the children are.

I can say that the story is really amazing. It’s full of adventures. I just really loved the story, full of struggles in their life. It was also like a tragedy story but it is also fun especially the baby who can make a lot of negative things into positive. It’s also nice that the children had never give-up in the entire struggles that they had encounter especially the fact that their parents had already died.

"Gadget Critique"

I choose to critique cell phone because it is one of the most important gadget that people use today. Everyone can say that cell phone is really one of the important thing in their life. Before people are fun writing letters to have a good communication with others but today cell phone gives a better communication for people. Just by loading up your cell phone, we can instantly call or text other unlike before that we still need to mail a letter which the person you need to communicate with will receive your letter after how many days. Isn't it an advantage to have cell phone?

Cell phones have lot of models alreay, it started with a cell phone which have antenas and before people seems to compete having small cell phones but today having a cell phone with a camera, video, TV and internet access is the best. It's reaaly a big advantage having a cell phone, from a message which we can communicate to people instantly. Having a camera on our cell phones which gives us moments with our friends. 

Christian Living Week

A Christian Living Month was held at La Verdad Christian College last January. There are different categories of contest which each sections had their representatives like in photo contest, poster making, quiz bee, preaching, solo singing, chorale, Christian dance contest, gayak  and ASOP La Verdad edition. It was great that the Christian Living week was organized by the LVCC students especially the ASOP production which the La Verdad Christian College had its different concept on it, like having an ethnic version of the ASOP theme song “A Song of Praise”. The concept was followed from the last grand winner of ASOP 2012- “Purihin Mo ang Dios Oh Pilipinas”. The song was like an ethnic song that is why the La Verdad had a touch of an ethnic concept with their ASOP music-festival.

                The Christian Living week was really unforgettable to everyone especially it was the first time that a Christian living week was held at La Verdad Christian College. The CL week was really fun. It was also full of surprises.  Everyone give their best in every activity that was held. I think the Christian Living week also gives us the opportunity to make the relationship of every section be better. For me, in our section (MCT-12), all of us had cooperated well. We are not the over-all champion but it seems that we are the over-all champion. Our section was sticked together because of the practices we had. I can say that the bonding of our section is also really amazing, It was different with others. The day that the competition was to be held is also unforgettable because our section had an early call time which is 5 o’clock in the morning and everyone really cooperates. Everyone was very hypher that day. We are all just so happy even we are not that ready like others who we saw that their costumes was so very colorful and great and those sections with a lot of big props.

                A lot of things to say about the Christian Living week but then the most important thing to say and to do is to give thanks to God. Everything was because of Him. To God be the GloryJ

This would really be one of my unforgettable moment for the year 2013. Being a part of the song writing competition- ASOP, A Song Of Praise. 

I wrote the song last December 14, 2012 which I entitled "YOU". The day that I finished composing it, I instantly let Dr. Mon del Rosario check it and he rated it 9 over 10. But then time came I was really about not to join the competition because of we are so busy which I can't concentrate to the song that I composed which I needed to arrange the lyrics for it is not enough for the melody of the song. I also felt sad that I can't join the ASOP movers because I was one of the composer in the competition. I really felt ashamed to join the competition because for me, the song that I wrote was not yet good enough to join the competition but then I still try to continue arranging the lyrics even though I really find it hard to arrange it because I was really hesitating already to join the competition. I know I'm not a professional writer but I'm really sensitive when it comes to writing, that's why.

The day the competition started, I was already crying since from the first song that was interpreted by the second year Mass Communication student until I was called in the stage after Joanne Canja interpreted the song that I composed. It's really funny that I cried but then after the competition I was surprised to know from B.Richard Rivera and Rogelio Lagutang that our song was in the 4th place out of 11 songs.

I really felt happy after all. It was really not a competition. It's the time wherein I had expressed out to the people how much I praise and love God. After the competition I really intended to give thanks to the people who pursued and help me to finish the song of praise which I wrote but then after all I THANK GOD for everything, for his guide, still TO GOD BE THE GLORY.

YOU MAKE ME SMILE, is one of the best song of Uncle Kracker. It's also my favorite song so expext that my critique to the song are mostly positive.

The first time I heard the song "You Make Me Smile", it already catches mt attention, I was amaze with its tune and lyrics. The day I first hear it is I think a day wherein I am happy because of someone that makes me happy, there is a person that is making me smile without him knowing. I really can't remember.

 I couldn't deny that I admire a guy, that's not new to us. Yah it's funny maybe but everytime I hear the song I always remember someone and sometimes when Im listening on it, I remember moments with my friends which is unforgettable.

Critique come on. The song is great for me. I love it. I Love Listening on it, try to listen on it too.

The lyrics of the song is exactly for me. Yah for me, "You make me smile". Yes YOU MAKE ME SMILE.

Im thankful for you making me smile for many times. Hey, I was lost again with my critique to the song because I've nothing to say but it's YEAH. 

Uncle Krackers song are good to my ears especially this song. It makes me feel good. I don't know yet the history of the song, but I know he's inspired of people that makes him happy the time he is composing the song.
